Monday marked the 70th anniversary of the raising of the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima’s Mount Suribachi by five U.S. Marines and one U.S. Navy corpsman. The United States Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington Ridge Park, Arlington, Va., commemorates the event as well as being dedicated to all personnel of the Marine Corps who have died in defense of the United States since 1775.
