Meghan Dufault, Becca Kohler and Amy Menke totaled eight points, including five goals, as the University of North Dakota women’s hockey shut out St. Cloud State University 6-0 Saturday afternoon in Ralph Engelstad Arena. By sweeping the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoff series, the Fighting Hawks clinched their sixth-straight WCHA Final Face-Off appearance. UND won 6-1 Friday. With the sweep, the Fighting Hawks are now 12-1 in first-round playoff games since 2010-11. It also marks the first weekend sweep of the season since Jan. 15-16. North Dakota improved its record to 18-11-5 and will enter the 2016 Final Face-Off as the tournaments third seed. Kohler and Menke each scored two goals for UND and Dufault and Charly Dahlquist each scored once. In goal, UND’s Shelby Amsley-Benzie made 22 stops, while UMD’s Katie Fitzgerald had 23. North Dakota will play in the semifinals at the 2016 WCHA Final Face-Off on March 5 in Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. The two semifinals are set for 2 and 5 p.m. The championship game will be held at 2 p.m. March 6.
