Can you name the movie this building was in? It is being stored here in Alamogordo, N.M.
This building was in the same movie. Do you know what movie?
Today’s adventure took up us a mountain.
Where there was a tunnel we had to drive though.
That brought us to the forest area.
Out of the trees came the town of Cloudcroft at an elevation of about 8,500 feet.
It was a quiet, old style town. …
that had shopping …
and a mall. We spent a good amount of time here. Every one was very friendly and glad to see us. Very talkative as well!
But it was time to head back down the mountain.
We had to stop at a place like this. After we filled our bags with fudge and other goodies it was time to continue on our way.
Going down was a little more exciting then going up.
There were places where stopping was not allowed …
And a few places where you were welcomed to take a break — and a few pics.
The white line through the middle is White Sands National Monument (we are going there soon), and in front of that is the city of Alamogordo.
Out of the tree line.
We entered the old town of La Luz, N.M. …
and came upon this Catholic church.
This is a close up of what is in front …
and this is in the steple below the white cross and bell.
Shooting through the pane glass on the front door, this is what graces the back of the church behind the altar.
This picture is cropped from the first and enlarged to show the wonderful detail in this stained glass.
Photographer Mike Bogert recently took a trip across the southwest part of the county. This is the second of several galleries that will be featured on The Fish in the upcoming days.
