On the road to the flea market.
Almost there.
Busy place.
Hot and windy.
Lots of scavangers.
Shade provided.
A person could spend all day here.
Going to pick something big up!
There are more rows behind No. 3.
The welcoming sign.
After visiting the flea market it was time for lunch at the famous la Posta de Mesilla! Yes, the place was packed!
I wasn’t the only one with a camera in there.
Lots to look at in the waiting room.
A fountain …
Some big birds …
did I say big birds …
Man-eating fish …
And more birds …
And look who else was there (I thought he’d be taller).
No food pics, it was very good! But here’s a little history about the building.
Across the street was the Billy the Kid Gift Shop, which in its time was actually …
the jail and courthouse.

Bees in the cactus.
This seemed to be a yard flower cactus.
A residence.
Outside a small shop.
A beautiful church.
Interesting. Two pictures of the building coming up.
See the close up of the sign.
A specialty shop!
A large yard of these things …
Leaving Mesilla.
Here are some more images from photographer Mike Bogert, who recently took a trip across the southwest part of the county. These photos were from a visit to Las Cruces, N.M., and it suburb, Mesilla. This is the third of several galleries that will be featured on The Fish in the upcoming days.
