The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team didn’t disappoint a crowd of 11,706 on Saturday night that came to see the Fighting Hawks play the University of Manitoba in an exhibition game that was preceded by a ceremony in which the school’s eighth NCAA national championship banner was hung in Ralph Engelstad Arena. UND, with goal-scoring coming from five players — Zach Yon, Shane Gersisch, Brock Boeser, Tucker Poolman and Mike Gornall — defeated the Bison 5-1. Three UND goalies — Cam Johnson, Matej Tomek and Matt Hrynkiw — combined for 16 saves. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
