The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team, behind a hat trick from Shane Gersich, snapped a six-game winless streak with a 4-0 shutout of St. Cloud State University on Friday night in the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. The Fighting Hawks (6-4-2 overall, 1-3-1 in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference) outshot the Huskies (6-5 overall, 2-3 NCC) ) 40-26 in the game, the seventh career shutout for goalie Cam Johnson. Johnson finished the game with 26 saves, while St. Cloud’s Zach Driscoll had 28 saves and replacement JeffSmith stopped eight shots. Ludvig Hoff scored the other UND goal.
