The University of Minnesota-Duluth men’s hockey team completed its first sweep of the University of North Dakota in its 73-year history, a 4-0 National Collegiate Hockey Conference shutout of the defending national champions Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. UMD freshman goalie Hunter Miska made 29 saves in the shutout of UND (6-7-1-1 NCHC 13-9-3 overall), the first time the Fighting Hawks have been shut out at home since Oct. 28, 2011. Scoring goals for the NCHC-leading Bulldogs (11-4-1-1 NCHC, 15-5-4 overall) were Adam Johnson, Willie Raskob, Dominic Toninato and Riley Tufte. Cam Johnson had 17 saves in goal for the Fighting Hawks. UND returns to action next weekend at Colorado College. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
