The University of Minnesota-Duluth won its second NCAA title Saturday by defeating the University of Notre Dame 2-1 in the championship game of the 2018 Frozen Four in St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center. Karson Kuhlman and Jared Thomas scored goals for the Bulldogs (25-16-3), who won all four NCAA tournament games by one goal and became the third at-large team in six years to win the title. UMD won its first title in 2011. Andrew Oglevie scored the only goal for the Irish (28-10-2). Goaltender Hunter Shepard stopped 19 shots for UMD, while Cale Morris made 33 saves for Notre Dame.
