The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team picked up a National Collegiate Hockey Conference win Friday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena, edging the University of Nebraska-Omaha 2-1. Gabe Bast and Nick Jones scored goals for the Fighting Hawks (17-15-2 overall,11-11-1 NCHC), while Zach Jordan scored for the Mavericks (9-21-3 overall, 5-16-2 NCHC). Peter Thome stopped 23 shot in goal for UND. Evan Weninger had 38 saves for UNO. The two teams meet again tonight. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
