The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team completed a sweep of the University of Minnesota with a 3-2 win Friday night in Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis. UND beat the Gophers 9-3 Thursday night. The victory ran UND’s unbeaten streak to 11 games. Jordan Kawaguchi, Shane Pinto and Jasper Weatherby scored goals for the No. 3 ranked Fighting Hawks (12-1-2 ), while Tyler Nanne and Ben Meyers scored for the Gophers (5-8-3). UND goalie Adam Scheel had 23 saves. Minnesota netminder Jared Moe stopped 19 shots. The Fighting Sioux close out the first half of the season next weekend, traveling to a Kalamazoo, Mich., to take on Western Michigan University. (Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.)
