The University of North Dakota football team picked up its third straight Missouri Valley Conference win, a 21-10 decision over the University of South Dakota on Thursday afternoon in the Alerus Center. The No. 4-ranked Fighting Hawks (3-0, overall, 3-0 MVC) once again were led by running back Otis Weah, who rushed for two touchdowns and 163 yards. Quarterback Tommy Schuster was 25-35 passing for 219 yards. Backup quarterback Quincy Vaughn threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Adam Zavalney for UND’s other score. Receivers Bo Belquist and Luke Skokna each caught five passes and Garett Maag caught three for 75 yards. Defensively, the Hawks were led by Devon Krzanowski, Ray Haas and Jaxson Turner. Turner had five tackles, including two sacks on back-to-back plays. The Coyotes (1-1 overall, 1-1 MVC), ranked No. 20 this this week’s national poll, were led by running back Kai Henry, who ran for 88 yards on 15 carries, including USD’s only touchdown. He also caught three passes for 31 yards. USD freshman quarterback Carson Camp was 19-for-31 passing for 193 yards. UND’s next game is March 13 at Western Illinois University.
