The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team surrendered a five-goal lead to fall 6-2 to Quinnipiac University on Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The No. 3 Fighting Hawks (2-1-1) led 2-1 after one period on goals by Riese Gaber and Jackson Blake, but the Bobcats (2-0-2) scored three goals in just over four minutes in the second period to regain the lead. Ethan de Jong scored twice to lead the Bobcats and Skyler Brind’Amour, TJ Friedmann, Desi Burgart and Iivari Rasanen each had one goal. Fighting Hawks goalie Jakob Hellsten had 16 saves, while Yaviv Perets stopped 19 shots on goal for the Bobcats. UND returns to play this weekend when they travel to Minneapolis to play the University of Minnesota.(Check out more  photos from Russ Hons here.)
