The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team came from behind three times to defeat No. 9-ranked St. Cloud State University 4-3 in overtime Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. Jake Schmaltz netted the winner for the No. 16-ranked Fighting Hawks (11-7-1 overall, 6-2-0 National Collegiate Hockey Conference), while Jaden Perron, Abram Wiebe and Sacha Boisvert each scored once in regulation. Dylan James chipped in three assists. The Huskies (10-7-0, 4-4-0 NCHC) received goals from Grant Ahcan, Austin Burnevick and Barrett Hall. UND goalie J.T. Semptimphelter had 23 saves, while SCSU goalie Gavin Enright stopped 34 shots. With the win, the Fighting Hawks swept the weekend series. They shut out the Huskies 2-0 0n Friday night behind goals from Carter Wilkie and Jake Livanavage. Semptimphelter had 24 saves in gaining the shutout, while Enright stopped 29 shots.
