Taking off for a nice vacation.
After a quick trip to Minneapolis, we were back in the air heading for Atlanta, Ga., where we had a long enough layover that we got to enjoy some great burgers and fries and do a little window shopping.
We boarded a plane and took off on the third leg of our trip, and after passing through two time zones finally ended up at our destination of …
El Paso, Texas. But we were not yet to our final destination.
Our hosts for the week picked us up and we were on our way into the mountains.
A simple taste of the architecture we are going to be seeing and, of course, more mountains.
We passed by some small towns along the way.
And we seemed to be getting more and more into the mountains.
They have different colored trains down here …
… and some great views.
Along the way there were some long deserted structures.
And there were some that were still in business, although they went by a different name.
Some homes rested empty.
But we’ve arrived in Alamogordo, N.M.
Photographer Mike Bogert recently took a trip across the county. This is the first of several galleries that will be featured on The Fish in the upcoming days.
