The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team inched closer to capturing the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s Penrose Cup with a 4-1 win over the University of Nebraska-Omaha on Friday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. Jacob Bernard-Docker, Jasper Weatherby, Tyler Kleven and Jackson Keane scored for the Fighting Hawks (16-4-1), who need only one more win — or a St. Cloud State University loss — to clinch their second straight conference championship and fourth overall. Weatherby’s goal was his sixth in the past five games, while Keane’s was his first of the season. Bernard-Docker also chipped in two assists for a threee-point night. Tyler Weiss scored the only UNO goal. Adam Scheel stopped 24 shots in goal for UND. UNO goalie Isaiah Saville had 37 saves. The two teams meet again tonight.
