Dec. 26: Our driveway in Bloomington, Minn., shortly after dawn. The white Christmas arrived a day late.
Dec. 25: Even the birds seem more festive on Christmas Day. Seen from our living room this morning.
Dec. 24: For a few minutes yesterday, it appeared Bloomington, Minn., might be headed for a heavy snowfall and an old-fashioned White Christmas. But it fizzled out. Regardless, please accept my holiday greetings and enjoy a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Dec. 21: One of the neighbor kids practicing today on the backyard rink his dad set up. I know the plan going through his head: “First Bloomington Jefferson High School, then the University of Minnesota, and finally anywhere in the National Hockey League.”
Dec. 18: Seen last night, drifiting in and out of the clouds. And here’s something cool: the moon will be full on Christmas.
Dec. 17: Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis, waiting for Handel’s “Messiah” to begin, performed by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Minnesota Chorale.
Dec. 14: Oscar Wilde said he could resist everything but temptation. Same with me when it comes to the Minnesota-originated Nut Goodie candy bar. This case should hold me until Spring, unless we’re trapped by major winter storms and they’re needed to prevent starvation or whatever.
Dec. 15: Pixie this morning, done with her business and heading back indoors.
Dec. 8: So Dave, do I LOOK like I want to go outside?
Dec. 7: Hey! You guys leaving me here alone?
Dec. 5: Avery Dusterhoft enjoying Grandma Dorette Kerian’s special pancakes this morning. Avery tagged along with her dad Scott Dusterhoft who is in Minneapolis to perform his Air Force Reserve duties.
Dec. 4: Hey Dave! Would you care for some dog food?
Dec. 2: Dave, change the channel, OK? “Wheel of Fortune” sucks.
Dec 31: Isn’t it wonderful these creatures are willing to spend at least part of the winter with us in Minnesota? True, they may be from Canada and think the climate here is mild. Seen yesterday.
