The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team completed a weekend sweep of National Collegiate Hockey Conference foe the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a 2-1 win on Saturday night in Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Fighting Hawks, 24-5-3 overall and 15-4-1 in the NCHC, won the game on Brock Boeser’s 20th goal of the season at 14:39 of the third period to keep pace with St. Cloud State atop the NCHC standings. UMD, 11-14-5 overall and 7-10-3 in league play, led 1-0 when senior center Cal Decowski scored on a rebound off his skate at 14:02 of the second period. Paul LaDue tied the game for UND less than five minutes later, his third goal of the season, setting up Boeser’s game winner. Cam Johnson of UND had 27 saves in goal, while Duluth’s Kasimir Kaskisuo handled 25 shots. Check out more photos from Russ Hons here.
